The Quarter of Reflection (or of Last Minute Commitments)
It's been a hell of a week. Microsoft's given up on providing their own interpretation of the Web, I'm still geeking out about Humaaans and ugh. I like the Web for its openness but it looks like it's gone from a open cafeteria table (which isn't too open) to a circle boardroom table (which super sucks).
Mind end up being a throne. Zeldman talks on it more.
Side Project Life
I'm getting more traction with Koype. I'm about 55% of the road to getting it to a "completed" state for developers to start poking around the codebase. Right now? It's so freaking sloppy. Not concerned about that (though I've punted a lot of stuff for the sake of getting it done).
That should have a landing page soon with some previews on it. I'll show it to y'all when it's done.
Work Werk
One thing I didn't acknowledge when I made the switch to consulting was the amount of sales I had to do just to make sure my pipeline was loaded. And when I say sales, I'm talking about moving people from "I have an idea" to "here's next week's payment". It's a struggle but one with a pattern that can be automated away. I thought it was all about the tools but it's more about the process.
Upcoming Streams
Issa new week! So depending on your interests, you should subscribe to catch me live or the replay of me live-coding. Koype is probably one of the personal projects I've worked on that touches so close to home and makes me more eager to work on it with every milestone reached. I can't wait to share it with y'all. If you join my Patreon, you'll be able to ask questions first and lightly guide the Q&A session during my live-stream!
Next Week
I'm a bit anxious for the rest of December. Lots of projects, lots of potential but time feels like it's short. The power of saying no comes to mind here. Are you working on anything in particular this week? Let me know; I'm eager to know!
