After almost two years at Coforma, I’ve decided to give Olamaelcu, my software lab nee consultancy, a actual face. I suggest reading its brief page explaining the name and what I’ll be doing with it as well as its introductory blog post. I kept them short because I’m spending way more time building. I’m passionate (and heavily critical) of the way that social media has developed and after reading some folks’ perspective on ATProto, Nostr and ActivityPub; I’m finally deciding to make something to synthesize my thoughts into things that folks can hold and give feedback on.

My biggest want is to bring back things like Path and Stumbleupon: two products that I believe represented the height of whimsical experiences on the Internet and ran counter to the commercial and advertisement driven nature it exists in today. Everything - including the protocols mentioned above - are designed for distribution and broadcasting; not necessarily for building spaces for folks to gather, hang and shoot the air. But for now, I’ll focus on making music sharing on social media a bit more fun. You can sign up at the waitlist.
