Eugene (new story)
Hi all,
I’ve published a new story. It’s my first and I might say only foray into what I would consider trans literature proper. I mean that inasmuch as you might compare it to a national literature.
The story, “Eugene” is a riff on Ann Beattie’s 1977 “Colorado,” you don’t need to know that story but it’s nearby. “Available but unforced inter-textuality.” A less obvious influence might be Casey Plett’s collection “A Dream of a Woman,” especially the long story “Enough Trouble”—sufficient unto the day…
Well, I don’t want to prime you too much with my thoughts about it, I’m actually quite happy for you just to read the story if you’re interested. If you like tugging yarn, give it a yank..

There’s actually quite a bit going on in the next month in the way of being a (very small) public person, which I’ll try to bunch the updates on. I’m very much looking forward to a conversation with Ty Mitchell in the Poetry Project newsletter, to an episode of Another F***cking Writing Podcast with Tyler Dempsey, and a few interviews, for example with Tank Magazine, and with Worms Magazine. I think I’m forgetting something.
What’s really going on is that I’m getting married, and we’re re-locating to Germany in less than a month. Come take my kitchen things. Sublet my apartment. We haven’t got much time. Übe Deutsch mit mir.
