Stop chasing DR. Chase this instead...
I’ve said it before but I’ll say it again. and again.
All these 3rd party SEO tools are full of vanity metrics that THEY made up.
These are not metrics that Google and other search engines use.
I mean, they have their own metrics but it’s not the same as these SEO tools.
Therein lies the rub.
So if you find yourself chasing things like DR (Domain Rating), it’s a fool’s errand.
Think about it: what will getting a higher DR mean for your business?
Most people don’t have an answer.
And the ones that do, think it’s “cool” and “nice to have”.
Yeah ok, try paying your bills with all the cool nice to haves in your pocket.
The only metric you should be chasing is money in the bank.
And you can do that without chasing DR.
How about…
How about you rewrite page titles to be concise and relevant (instead of keyword stuffed gibberish)
How about you reformat your content so that it reads well, gets to the point and actually answers questions and helps people.
How about you build resources that attract links naturally (glossaries, templates, how-to guides…)
I mean, this is how you get ahead with SEO.
You optimise your content for discovery.
And how to get ahead financially?
You optimise your content for conversions.
Stop chasing DR.
Start stacking bars.
Otherwise, why bother?
Sense.
Peace,
Jaaved
