SEO internship, title tags and me being LAZY
Ola!
It’s been a while.
I could ply you with all sorts of excuses but honestly, from the bottom of my heart, I just got a bit lazy.
I did have other legit reasons but frankly, I should have prepped for moments like these.
How?
By scheduling my content weeks and months ahead.
Now I know I should practice what I preach. But this is also a very real learning moment: we’re all human.
Even the biggest brands with the biggest budgets and brightest minds will falter and stuff up.
That’s life.
What’s more important than getting slack or dropping the ball is the ability to move forward.
Like I am, right now.
I could have wallowed for more days/weeks but I finally got up and said enough is enough.
Hence this email.
But onto more fun stuff!
- I put the word out for an SEO intern and 200+ people got intouch. And I’m genuinely afraid. Because this is a lot of people and I now have to figure out how to handle this.
Here’s my SEO intern form: https://www.jaaved.com/seo-internship/
If you’re keen, hit me up. I’m going to pick out a handful of folks who have the potential and want to learn SEO from me. And we’re gonna grow together.
Why did I do this? I was feeling a bit high (not in that way). I was reminiscing about how I was given a leg up into the industry and how grateful I was that someone believed in me and helped me grow. And I wanted to give back and do the same for another person.
I am genuinely flattered but I am determined to see this through!
- Google is messing about with title tags in the SERPs again. Don’t panic. Leave your title tags alone. It ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
I mean you can still look at your title tags but don’t change them based on what’s happening in the SERPs. Just chill.
- And lastly, I have put my ecommece SEO guide on ice for now. I found a lot of similar guides, produced in a far better way and I thought: how am I going to beat this? And i realised that for now, I can’t.
And this is really my advice for you with your website.
-
How are you adding value?
-
How are you making a difference?
-
What makes your content stand out?
Let’s say you want to talk about something that is already being done. Look at what exists and how you can beat it.
Sometimes it’s about adding a few minor details that make it more complete.
Sometimes it’s a formatting thing.
Heck, it could just be a video instead of an article.
This is how you get ahead.
And remember, always be helpful. People will never forget that.
Peace,
Jaaved
