Stories show you more than data can
What numbers mean, what they show you, is why they're valuable.
But, most of the time we're drowning in numbers so much, we loose track of that. If we say the population of the world is 8 billion, the statistic is big no doubt, but think about it for a bit.
It means there are 7,999,999,998 other people living just like you and me. All with complex relations to other people and everything else that we go through. Can you imagine how many stories there are?
Same goes for your business. Rather than focusing on the numbers, focus on what they're saying. There's even a law that says when a measurement becomes the goal, it ceases to be effective. Because then it becomes all about the top line or bottom line or this quarters sales instead of delivering value.
