For every step along the way, a good system has deeply integrated support. Here’s an example:

Instead of giving steps on how to do something, an SOP could also outline what to do for certain experiences too. The first could be steps on how to do a complex project. The second could be an SOP on what to do if they are overwhelmed with complexity!

That way, it not only feels more relatable, it also helps them do the work better. Now, they not only know how to do the work, but also the mental frameworks or other techniques that are not always obvious.
