Play music, not the instrument
Because instruments are no fun without the music
Thanks to the great algorithm gods, I just discovered an amazing musician — Victor Wooten.
Just heard this line from him in his ted talk. The way he says it immediately clicks deep down.
And of course, the same applies to systems too. They can't be very effective on their own anyway. So, we generally need systems to speak to each other. But it's a headache if you have to be the middle man or translator.
So, the next thing people realise is that systems are good, but they need to talk to each other. Question is, can you start simple enough to make them a symphony as soon as possible?
Like Victor said, play the music, not the instruments!
