People vs Systems
or is it systems vs people?
It's a common misconception that these 2 are in some way opposing or troubling each other.
It's simply not true. A system is meant to serve its people; and people have systems to make work easier, faster and clearer.
If that's not happening, then obviously the systems are not well made. This is why people get frustrated with systems and rebel.
On the other hand, if systems are well made, then there may be problems with particular people. If the process is clear, but they are not able to do it, then they either need clarity, training, alignment, maybe even scolding, or more.
The intensity of correction should depend solely on the severity of the situation.
