Well, systems do just that. You can define what you want the data to show you. All you have to do is:

1. Define what you want to know clearly

2. Make sure the data tells you what you need reliably

That’s it. No need to complicate it further.

If it’s getting complicated for you, it just means you’re trying to do too many together. In that case, prioritize. Start from the most critical or the most comprehensive one. Then add more detail as required.

For e.g. first get a clear picture on profitability before diving into forecasting, etc.
