Hard first vs easy first
The low hanging fruit is anyway up for grabs. The hard parts are what need to be looked at first.
Looking at it deeply may not mean solving it. Simply being aware early lessens the pain for sure. Starting early allows you to design systems around it from the very begining, or at least as soon as you see it.
It also allows you more time to look for solutions. So, even if you don't have the answers yet, just go on defining the problem as clearly as you can.
