Systems are bloody MACHINES to help you reflect!
In my opinion, systems are a way to help you get honest with yourself. If you don't get clear, any systems you design also cannot become clear cut.
Best part is that it's okay to start with what you know right now. Once you see that in front of you, how to go to the next level becomes obvious. To see what's missing becomes very easy too.
That's why, even if you don't have a real requirement for systems, this reason alone is more than enough to start now.
