Correct context

What you can do to cultivate the frame of reference people have.

If systems are one more thing for your team to do, are you really surprised if the said systems don’t really work?

If you inculcate systems into the day-to-day functioning of your business, then it becomes a mirror of reality — a very valuable thing.

But for your team to take up ownership and complete involvement, what steps have you taken to make sure they take it up on their own?

It’s all about how you have introduced it to them, isn’t it?

Here are a few examples:

  • If you just ordered them to use it, they will try to do their best, but it may not yield the results you expected.

  • If you tie it to their incentives, they may become more proactive.

  • But, if they understand the importance of it to their lives and work, they will take ownership of it.

  • If they see how it will impact others positively, they may even identify with it & feel proud they were part of creating such a thing!

It’s up to you what kind of people you want to surround yourself with.
