Build with a blueprint
Gentle reminder for clarity
This is the most obvious and clichéd one, but as Raymond Reddington said — “clichés work; and over time they become defaults. That’s why it gets to be a cliché”
Having some idea on what you're building and where you're going is required. If not a specific goal, at least a direction should be clear. A blueprint is simply a tool to outline and detail the steps for maximum clarity. Basically a clear enough idea of what you want to build.
There are clear differences between having task level clarity and just doing things. Let's see how each of them work:
Without vision | With vision |
---|---|
Limited bandwidth to strategize | Clear plan and tracking |
Don’t know next step | Can easily break it down into smaller pieces |
Can’t have backup plans in place | Can have multiple options ready |
Unsure decisions | Decisions with reasons |
Never ending discussions | Healthy debate & deliberation |
Everyone does things according to their understanding | Everyone works as a single intelligence |
Can’t prepare properly | Can prepare for the smallest of details |
Can’t time or schedule things | Can be timed for max impact |
… | … |
As you can see, there are many advantages to having a plan or a vision. But, the most important one is of feeling like you are in the driver’s seat of your business.
So, even if it’s just a list in your notes app or calculations on a tissue paper; what are the things you need to solidify and crystallize in your mind for it to happen in reality?
Please write something down today. Feel free to share if you want to.
Adios!
