Everything we read or watch and learn, including this article, is just borrowed knowledge. It may make total logical sense, but is useless, unless it's put to use.

So, whatever you learn needs to be put in practice. You need to play with it in your own way to really understand it. Only after doing this sufficiently, you really understand how it works.

Don't worry, I'm not here to preach. This is just a reminder to take something that makes sense and apply it in sometime small way at least.

This same phenomenon happens for your team — you can give SOPs to follow, but you also need to give room for play wherever possible. Especially if it's critical they understand their job, not just follow a set of instructions.
