Always at max Capacity
Why it's important to always be on the edge.
Whether it’s man or machine, it’s important to keep running at max capacity. While it’s obviously true for machines; does it really apply to us too?
We all know that growth happens at the edge of knowledge / comfort. If it’s too new or complicated, we get demoralized. If we have mastered that work, then also it becomes a bit boring.
This is true for your team members too. If you leave things too loose, they will never know what potential they have. If you run it too tight, again, you won’t know what potential they hold. But if things are clear-cut, and there is a continuous push for everyone to go to their next step, then it’s a sustainable system.
Only when you are on the edge of what you do not know, do you really pay attention. So, an environment where everyone is pushed to their max is ideal. If you don’t have one already, then create one.
Doing this allows for maximum usage of potential and keeps things fresh at the same time.
Growth is a fundamental longing everyone has, even if they're not aware of it.
I'm sure some of the best and deepest memories you have will be the ones where you grew — either because life pushed you or someone showed you what you never imagined for yourself (like an amazing coach or teacher from childhood!)
