We are delighted to invite you to Alex Westfall’s inaugural solo exhibition: See Through, opening Friday, June 12, from 6–9pm at 55 West 8th Street, Fifth Floor, New York, NY 10011. 

See Through is a show nearly four years in the making. Comprised of 27 images arranged like an advancing and unwinding roll of film, the exhibition moves through three generations of family photographs spanning 1978 to 2026 and Manila to Los Angeles. Westfall iterates from within these images: her grandmother’s silhouette is lifted from an Instagram post, a 1996 window stretches to meet one from 2025. The prints bear the marks of her somatic darkroom practice: folded, torn, pricked, left out overnight. What emerges is a recursive self-portraiture that embraces the unknowns and latent parallels of family lineage, opening itself through the interstices of the archive. 

We would love to see you next Friday from 6–9pm for the opening of See Through. The show will be on view Thursdays from 5–7pm and Sundays from 2–7pm through July 19.
