October Scary Movie Series!
It’s October! That means scary movies!
This month I’m going to host a scary movie series at my apartment on my projector! The plan will be to screen one scary movie per week. Anyone is welcome to join, and fall and/or scary themed refreshments will be provided!
Below is the schedule, although I may have to make adjustments as the month goes on due to unforeseen work circumstances!
Friday October 4, 8pm: The Descent
A caving expedition goals horribly wrong, as the explorers become trapped and ultimately pursued by a strange breed of predators.
A great “introductory” horror film, suggested by my brother Noah. This should be a great start to the series!
Friday October 11, 8pm: The Blaire Witch Project
Three film students vanish after traveling into a Maryland forest to film a documentary on the local Blaire Witch legend, leaving only their footage behind.
This is the original “found footage” film, and I have seen it many times, although not for years. I’m very excited to share it!
Thursday October 17, 8pm: Nosferatu
Vampire Count Orlock expresses interest in a new residence and real estate agent Hutter’s wife.
This film from 1922 is one of the original horror films. I’ve never seen it but I’ve been looking for an excuse!
? Friday October 25, 8pm: [Rec]
A television reporter and cameraman follow emergency workers into a dark apartment building and are quickly locked inside with something terrifying.
This is the scariest film I’ve ever seen (I may be biased, however, due to my crippling fear of zombies). I think it’ll be a strong ending for our series!
This showing may have to get rescheduled due to work circumstances, but I should know soon if that’s the case.
I may also decide to turn this into a proper halloween party!
Come to as many or as few of these screenings as you want, but try to let me know ahead of time if you can make it!
(I’ll still be going to my regularly scheduled Tuesday movie expeditions during October.)
Looking forward to celebrating horror with y’all!
