After Hours @ IFC
This week I’m going to the 8pm Tuesday showing of After Hours at the IFC! It should be out by 9:45. My IFC membership has expired so I can no longer provide a discount to anyone who wants to join me, and since I haven’t been to the IFC since February I don’t think I’ll be renewing it for the time being. (I do however still have my Film Forum and Metrograph memberships!)
After Hours is a Scorsese film follows a man’s night on the town after a chance encounter with the girl of his dreams. More specifically, it’s a late-night adventure through the mean streets of a pre-gentrified Soho that will resonate with any urbanite who has faced the sometimes Sisyphean task of just trying to get home. It’s supposed to be incredibly funny and is very much a struggle I am in the mood to witness!
Last week I was traveling the west coast for my job so I didn’t see a movie! I think next week may end up the same way. I am getting increasingly busy! (I feel like I say that in many of my newsletters..)
As for the previous week’s viewing of Level Five, all I will say is, I either didn’t get it or there wasn’t much to get. Either way, not my kind of movie!
