West Ham have been active in the transfer market over the past few weeks, with a mix of new arrivals and departures.
The most notable incoming transfer is the signing of goalkeeper Mads Hermansen from Leicester City for a reported fee of around £20 million. The Danish international is expected to provide a strong option in goal.
The Hammers have secured veteran striker Callum Wilson on a free transfer from Newcastle United, offering an experienced option up top.
We have brought in defender Kyle Walker-Peters on a free transfer from Southampton and El Hadji Malick Diouf from Slavia Prague. El Hadji Malick Diouf cost €22 million, plus add-ons, making him the most expensive outgoing transfer in Czech league history.
In terms of outgoings, the most significant transfer is the departure of Mohammed Kudus to Tottenham Hotspur in a £55 million deal. Other notable departures include a number of players leaving on loan to gain experience, such as Kaelan Casey to Swansea City, Michael Forbes to Northampton Town, and Mason Terry to Braintree Town.
West Ham have also been linked with other players, including a rejected £30 million bid for Southampton midfielder Mateus Fernandes. There are also reports of interest from Ajax in re-signing Edson Alvarez on loan, with West Ham open to a deal if a suitable replacement can be found.
Mads Hermansen
Mads Hermansen began his professional career with Brøndby in Denmark, where he was named the club's Player of the Year in 2022. He then moved to Leicester City, where he played a key role in their EFL Championship title win in 2023-24, earning a spot in the divisional Team of the Season. In the subsequent Premier League season, he made over 100 saves for the Foxes. He has also been a regular member of the senior Denmark national squad and has represented his country at various youth levels.
Kyle Walker-Peters
Kyle Walker-Peters is a 28-year-old with considerable experience, having come through the Tottenham Hotspur academy before moving to Southampton in 2020. At Southampton, he made over 160 league appearances. Walker-Peters has also earned two caps for the England national team. He was part of the England U20 squad that won the FIFA U-20 World Cup in 2017. He also played a significant role in Southampton's 2023-24 season, where he was named in the EFL Championship Team of the Season.
El Hadji Malick Diouf
El Hadji Malick Diouf is a 20-year-old Senegalese international who helped Slavia Prague win the Czech First League title in the 2024-25 season. During that season, he scored seven goals and provided three assists in 27 league appearances. He also gained experience in European competitions, playing in both the UEFA Champions League qualifying rounds and the Europa League group stage. Diouf also played for Norwegian club Tromsø, and has represented his country, Senegal, at senior international level.
