Quiver
This exhibition is an iteration of previous works exploring the “orb” form. Extending the recurring themes of light, circles and blurred boundaries, this opportunity to access multiple screens enables the integration of various versions, culminating in an abstraction of ideas informing the work: multiplicity, “all at once,” entanglement, parallel play, infinity, forever, symbols, ascension, “self” and more.

RELATED EVENTS
08-23 May ::: The Highlands Theatre Group play, Shirley Valentine, has begun its run, with a triumphant start to the season on Friday 8th. If you’re in town, definitely add this to must see list! Jack has been helping build the set, creating visuals and running the sound desk during the show.
May-June ::: The Pop-Up Project Members Exhibition at Centennial Vineyards features works spanning painting, drawing, sculpture, ceramics, woodworking and photography from artists based in the Southern Highlands. I’ve been enjoyed plotting/printing some of my specture drawings now that my plotter is setup. There are two editions of one of my ink plotter drawings in this exhibition. It’s a great time to visit the Highlands, with the colours of Autumn on show throughout the region. Video of installed works and more information
04-06 June ::: NFC Summit Lisbon, Teia exhibit is being held during day2, 05 June at the Non Fungible Conference (NFC) part of the Summit. NFC is described as “where the creative economy meets Web3 through art. NFC centers entirely on digital and blockchain-based artistic practices, with dedicated exhibitions, installations, and immersive experiences unfolding across the site.” I’m co-curating the Teia art community screen as part of Teia’s decentralised curation team. There are two parts: firstly, invited artists will create works and secondly, the community nominates suggested artists and the Teia DAO votes on who will be included.
Grassroots, community archive sites are back online:
::: Brisbane Dance Parties Archive → this site is one of my long-term research project and documents flyers, names and places in the early dance parties scene in Brisbane (1987-2001, though will be extended soon). There’s still work to do on the structure and additional memories to add, so the site will evolve over time. Enjoy the memories!
::: The Stealth Collection → this site catalogues the hip hop collection of Mark Pollard from Stealth Magazine and The Mothership Connection radio show. Many of the releases were promos, sent to Mark to be featured in his magazine and/or radio show. It’s a great snapshot of some of the Australian hip hop community from the past few decades
