Sometime not so long ago, you signed up to receive updates about An Introduction to VisiData. This is the fourth installment.

Great news: VisiData 2.0 is out!

It's a major milestone and I recommend reading the announcement for details. There's lots to like, but my two favorite additions are these:

• Undo/redo, which not only makes life easier, but also (esp. when paired with guard-sheet) turns VisiData into a powerful data-entry and data-cleaning tool.


• The Plugin API, which clarifies VisiData's architecture and makes it easier to develop new features.

I've now updated An Introduction to VisiData to be compatible with version 2.0, and have added some material related to a few of its new features, such as multiline mode. I hope to add new sections (e.g., on the nifty expand-col and unfurl-col commands) and more usage examples in the coming months.
