Sometime not so long ago, you signed up to receive updates about An Introduction to VisiData. This is the second installment.

Happy new year! I used part of the holiday weekend to publish some improvements to the tutorial, including by drafting three of the previously-blank chapters:

The last of those is very exciting to me: As of version 1.5, VisiData now supports plugins, which let you easily incorporate features that other people have written, and to write your own.

Partly for the sake of demonstration, and partly because I think they're genuinely useful, I decided to share a couple of plugins I've written — one for deduping rows, and another for normalizing column names. (Feedback, of any sort, is very much welcome.)

I also added links to VisiData creator Saul Pwanson's case-study videos on YouTube and Patreon page — both well-worth checking out.

And in other fun VisiData-teaching news, Andrea Borruso has written an introductory tutorial in Italian. Splendido!
