Last week's newsletter was "The power of wondering" and the Community Hub session was titled "Decision-making".
The one place you can't go is back. And... that means you can't hold on to what you've got either. (This one's for me, and also, he that hath ears to hear...)
You know you can't go back to the way things used to be in the past. Even if you had a time machine. Even if everybody in a whole group wants to "go back" with you, you can't un-see what you've seen. You can't choose to shrink once you've grown. You don't fit in that shape anymore.
Do you like what you've have, the way things are right now? Get ready to loosen your grip and even release it. You might lose it, you might not, but you have to figure out a new way of relating to whatever it is. (person, feeling, status, accomplishment, relationship)
The one surefire way to lose it entirely is to try and sustain your having-the-thing by freezing your grip, trying to lock it into place. It keeps changing, the world keeps changing, everything is changing and the only thing you can freeze is yourself. "You can't go backwards" means that you can't stand still either.
Let the present flow into the past.
Let the past go.
Let the future unfold into the present.
Transform in each moment.
But really, just look for where you're freezing up after you notice that sense of blockage. Holding still is the most natural thing in the world to do, and you won't even notice you're doing it until you smell the burning rubber from holding down the gas and brake pedals simultaneously, wondering what's holding you back when you see clear road ahead of you.
Only after you let go can you then grasp the bigger, better shape that's calling you. Life is calling you forward.
