IS: Season 18 activities
Upcoming public events:
- Saturday April 5: Connection Call
- Sunday April 6: Season 18 kickoff (members only)
- Tuesday April 8: 2R Oasis (launch!) Call
Community Hub calls for Season 18 members run April 6th through June. Last Sunday was our seasonal "rest week", though it wasn't particularly restful.
Most recent prior newsletter: Integrity isn't effort
IS members past and present received today a "seasonal update" as we enter our 18th season this week. This version is for the 250 other folks on this newsletter, where I'm zooming out even more to make this a big picture overview:
IS Season 17 review
Our heartbeat (now over 200 sessions strong!) of Community Hub calls on Sundays continued to broaden our leadership and collaboration capacity as several IS members facilitated sessions on money, mortality, attunement, beauty, embodiment, agency. It was an exploration-heavy season sourced from the diversity of our experiences and perspectives that set a new high mark in community self-leadership.
The Pod Program (4 people, 4 weeks, everyone gets a turn in the center of Circling or Casework) seems to be finding a rhythm, and a niche as a great place to make and deepen friendships within our web. We're running 4 concurrent pods right now, and the plan is to run another pod cycle next season.
Some people show up mainly at the Arts crew, or participate in the Pod Program more than the Hub calls. The fact that there are multiple ways to be connected as an IS member now shows up a bit on a new members webpage as the IS website gets revamped (with more to come).
This Sunday April 6th begins our 18th season of community calls. We'll bring our core practices back up into balance with our explorations, alternating between containers and emergence. Member-led explorations will continue, and it's all in service of being who we want to be.
The doing what matters part is branching out in multiple directions...:
Limicon 2025
Over 400 people had joined in the Limicon conference as of the closing ceremony yesterday, connecting via 325 total sessions, reflected in the ~3500 relationships drawn in the network graph. We capped the month (and the Build-a-thon) by distributing over $6000 across 25 PitchFest presenters through audience voting in celebration of what we want to see more of in the world.
For some of us in IS, all of March has been crammed full of as many sessions as we could squeeze in from an overflowing abundance of options on the calendar. We also hosted several offerings including fishbowls, the IV Build-a-thon, weekly weaving, a celebration of the Emerge podcast, and the launches of GiveWiser and the Second Renaissance Oasis community.
Intentional Ventures
Intentional Ventures ran a successful four-week "Build-a-thon" series inside Limicon with 50+ participants, progressing rapidly through ideation, collaboration, formation, and storytelling. IV will regroup and soon transition into a new phase of multi-layered activity, continuing to build an ecosystem of values-aligned livelihood generation.
GiveWiser
What does it mean to give wisely? A small group is learning-by-doing as we develop principles for wise giving, spread a giving pledge, and catalyze more giving toward paradigmatic transformation. Subscribe for news or show up at The Oasis to get involved.
The Oasis (Second Renaissance)
Putting it together: being and building the Second Renaissance. Pulling together all the sparks from 2R Community Calls, 2R Workspace Calls, and the spirit of Limicon, The Oasis is a relational and organizational space in service of wise action. You can join the very first Oasis call this Tuesday April 8th.
What about you?
If all or any of the above seem attractive to you (even if also a little overwhelming!) then one easy step would be to show up in a couple days (Saturday April 5th) at our Connection Call and bring your curiosity! Or if you attended the "Limicon edition" Connection Call or have had any other contact with Intentional Society and want to experience our culture first-hand, you're just one short application form away from catching the season kickoff this Sunday.
Onward,
James
