Happy New Year! As we step into 2026 today, I'm considering the stories I am involved in. There's a particular story of my work "in the world" that I want to resonate with - to amplify what's already there, let it ring through and cohere me, to sing it louder. Not to assert "2026 is the year of XYZ" purely from my will, as a prophecy or command or manifestation. Neither to assert a prediction from the perspective an outside-the-world observer. The both/and interplay between actor and environment, me and world, brings in both choice and attunement: My choice, of the song I wish to sing with my capacity. Attunement to the coherence of the song that exists around me, of which my part is a small one.

Enough meta. The story, the song I'm hearing, and also choosing, for 2026 is one of... "solidification" seems like the right word in this moment? In that word there are notes of real-ness, of seriousness, of concrete structures, of densification, of condensing. Of alliance solidifying within collaboration. Of coalition condensing within network. Of backbone and/or muscles strengthening within gooey organism. Seeds of movement momentum solidifying inside the greenhouse garden incubator of (liminal) scene.

My own personal story of agency and role is one of catalysis, of calling, of anchoring, of supplying, of leading, of supporting. Source, scrummaster, seer, funder, facilitator, follower. Different melodic/harmonic lines in different orchestras, the songs joining together to make a bigger, more real song that's bigger than any one of us can fit inside our awareness - more complex, more beautiful, more grand.

I have seven main strands of work in my personal portfolio at the moment. I don't know whether I'll end 2026 with even more, or focusing on fewer. I notice that every one of those contexts/spaces is in collaboration with others, and that it doesn't even make sense to me to think about what I could do "alone". And yes when my awareness is at its outer edges of expansion, there is also a sense in me that the universe is speaking some signal just to me, that is uniquely my melody if I can be sensitive enough and big enough to be a conduit for what the love of the universe wants to send. And yes, it is also in some sense the one universal song, the song of life unfolding and living itself.

I was going to write a "state of the union" type update today, but this is what resonated instead. What resonates in you, when you are still enough to sense the universe and yourself in it? What story are you telling, and is being told through you, in 2026? My deep wish for you is that you have a song that you can dance to throughout the year - one that is bigger than you, one which lights up your heart and hands, and which harmonizes with many other expressions of the universal song.
