The previous newsletter was "Finding no-lose moves" and our Community Call last Sunday was titled "Playing Catch".

What are we to do? (Including, what are we to do at our Quarterly Convening this Sunday? If you're a part of the IS Web, we value your presence highly!)

At a deep level, one big answer is to grow our capacity — our inner capacity to be with anything, and our outer capabilities for able and agile response to anything. This is a great way to frame the guiding principle, the essential purpose of Intentional Society: as a vehicle for increasing capacity.

My capacity, your capacity, and our capacity together are both independent and interdependent.

• Independent: We are each unique people on unique growth journeys, sovereign in our self-responsibility with personal callings toward personal purposes.
• Interdependent: We are interwoven beings whose fullness extends beyond our bodies into the people and world around us. I am because we are.

These things are both true and both necessary for any-and-all "big" (bigger than conventional culture knows is possible) capacity! Meaningful coordination between us arises and solidifies as a function of interpersonal (interbeing) coherence. This isn't just "the speed of trust" — trust is one piece of coherence, along with alignment and love. Growing up enough to have the capacity for meaningful coordination, that's a lot! I've got a lot of growing to do myself, I'm sure of that. Then, cohering that individual capacity into interdependent coordination? Whoaaaa, the potential is so large... and the complexity is so high that I think this is very rare, untapped space.

The theme guiding our space on Sunday in the Convening is "Increasing our capacity through densifying our doings", and the imagery I have is of neurons growing toward each other inside a brain, extending axons to link synapses with neighboring dendrites, densifying their interconnectedness. This Convening welcomes wiggling and flailing and emergent flopping around seeking connections with (literal and metaphorical) "action potential". Interbeing in the inner and outer, collective and individual capacity forming positive feedback loops, structure and emptiness teaming up to birth emergence... let's turn toward it all!
