Hello! This Sunday we'll conclude our Intentional Society Practice Series (for post-conventional personal development, using themes of awareness, acceptance, integrity) with our Edge Case (customization of Case Clinic) practice. That's the 9th and final week of this series, for which overall I'm very satisfied with the flow of the sequence and the positive experience feedback participants have been sharing.
Beyond that, multiple threads are picking up steam...
Series final wrap-up
On Monday the 18th, the day after session #9, I'll host a whole-series wrap-up review call for an hour. This session is open to all — you can come hear the stories even if you didn't get to attend earlier.
What's next for the practice space?
The exact Practice Series won't be immediately repeated, but will very likely come back in very similar form, maybe twice a year? The open practice dojo space itself will continue next quarter (on a different schedule, perhaps alternating Saturdays?), and next season's series will have an exploratory theme as we try out practices that we don't already have experience using.
Brainstorming for a "practice labs" series
This same wrap-up call on the 18th will conclude with some brainstorming regarding future exploratory practices. Are there relational and/or developmental practices you'd like to try? Bring your suggestions and opinions! So far the (low-confidence) potential list includes:
- Alexander Technique
- Gendlin Focusing
- Clowning
- Improv
- Relational Aikido
- Appreciative Inquiry
- Metta Meditation
- ???
...and if you know a teacher in these or other practices, pass 'em my way by replying to this email.
Membership Drive
There's a whole other side of Intentional Society that exists beyond the open practice sessions. It goes deeper, builds relationships with higher trust, feels more like a living room than a training space. As I mentioned last week, this is where greater focus (and more regular meetings) will be next quarter.
Membership is free (always has been), and the light application-and-agreements membrane that defines membership exists to let us create openness in our private cozyweb and safely handle private data sharing. If you've attended at least one Practice Series session with no red flags, OR if you come to Office Hours on the 22nd for member orientation, then the membership application form is the only formality between you and the March 24th Member Meeting.
That meeting has a "where we go next" theme in my head, and besides some connective relational practice will feature some collective intention-setting re proposals on crewing, ventures, and leadership for next season.
So that's the game plan for the rest of this month! Easter Sunday will be completely off for IS, and then the new season will likely kick off on April 7th for IS members.
Hope that's clear enough. Send any questions or comments my way by replying to this email.
Cheers,
James
