IS: A new Dojo dawning

Last week's newsletter was "Orgs, jobs, livelihoods" and the Community Hub session title was "Blessings & Gratitude".
In the beginning (of IS) was the weekly call, and that structure was formless and undivided. Fast forwarding a few years: At the start of 2024, Intentional Society branched into multiple spaces, becoming an ecosystem that contained a "developmental-relational" Practice Dojo open to the public.
Also started in 2020 was another practice playground, this one called Communication Dojo. In time, the two groups discovered each other, became friends, and grew closer — even co-hosting shared Circling practice series that were "in" both of the Dojos simultaneously.
As both groups approached their 5-year anniversaries, thoughts of reimagination and entering new planes/eras led us to explore joining forces — all the way to a full merger that births a platform! Yes, we're now in the final stages of design aiming at a Jan 2026 launch, and reaching out to our communities for feedback on this design sketch document ahead of a live feedback/discussion call on Tuesday at Noon Pacific.
There are two things that excite me the most about supporting a combined platform:
- We can together increase awareness and momentum of this nascent field, the field of relational practices, which has been so rewarding for us, and
- We can build and share infrastructure in such a way that we can serve and support more practice hosts to offer their gifts to the world!
