Intentional Society: Few word do trick
Condensing the "why": inclusion
Second-chance orientation call Saturday, July 16th at 1:00-1:55pm Pacific Daylight Time (4pm Eastern, 8pm UTC).
"If I had more time, I would have written a shorter letter." -Blaise Pascal probably
"Brevity is the soul of wit." -Shakespeare, Hamlet
"why waste time say lot word when few word do trick" -Kevin, The Office
...The meta-level humor here is that I just gave you three quotes where any one of them would suffice. An ironic nod to the difficulty of concision.
Thus follows a next step in the progression of condensing my writing about an identity expansion, also gestured at last week, trying to include more of why this is important:
- IS set out to find a precious thing: The transformative relational field.
- A strong commitment-exclusion boundary protected the creation and strengthening of that field.
- A: The field is now strong and healthy!
- B: Meanwhile, the exclusion also hurts.
- A+B = Now we can be more inclusive!
So there we go: inclusion. This showed up obliquely as "more space" in the previous newsletters. New broadening allowed by prior deepening. I foresee this broadening then creating space for further deepening — part of an even bigger "why".
Cheers,
James
