Zeroed Out! TCAF! Sinners! And more!
:: message. Zeroed Out is premiering at TCAF, which will be next month at the Mattamy Athletic Centre at 50 Carlton Street in Toronto! It’s hard to believe that this baby that Jim Munroe and I have put together will soon be in the hands of readers like you! We’ll have copies on hand for you to purchase if you’re coming to the world’s premier Comic Art Festival, and copies are also available for pre-order on At Bay Press’ website!

:: film. Ryan Coogler’s Sinners has been the talk of the town, and with good reason — the film is fantastic. Coogler paints such a beautiful portrait of Mississippi and black culture, it’s profound influence upon the world and how that love can be so encompassing that it can even move the souls of the undead.
Of course, conversations about films in the ‘20’s can’t really exist without talking about money, and Sinners’ box office power remains undimmed. Slashfilm reports how Sinners has passed the $200m mark. “The last [original] movie to do so was "Gravity" ($274 million domestic/$723 million worldwide) way back in 2013. So yeah, we're firmly in holy s*** territory right now.” (Ryan Scott, “Sinners Just Passed A Box Office Milestone Not Seen In Nearly A Decade“)
:: Ryan Couldrey’s Time Eater. Speaking of horror films, Ryan Couldrey was nice enough to oblige me with sharing his latest short film, Time Eater. You can check out the trailer here.

feat. Jane Moffat, Perrie Voss, and Lauren Beatty
A grandmother suffering from undiagnosed dementia has her home invaded while she's babysitting her granddaughter.
:: drawing board. On the drawing board is September’s installment of Dinosaurs from Outer Space, where I am again aided by the incredible Wai Au. There’s also a super-secret project that I can’t talk about right now because of NDAs, but should be coming out in 2026.
:: superzine. And the features for Superzine have been selected — now I just have to handle a lot of admin! But Superzine no. 2 will be coming out before the end of this year. Anyways, I’ll see you next month.
