I can totally relate with this article. On my laptop I only use dark mode in my editor, although on my phone I’ve it enabled for everything. I find lighter modes better for reading and interacting (GitHub in black mode is horrendous). In the end I think it comes to a personal taste decision, but the only thing I would say is that if you are doing a presentation or something do not use black backgrounds.
