  • If you’re a Linux or macOS user upgrade your sudo NOW! [7m]
I really hope you’re not late to this, but some researchers found a very concerning vulnerability in sudo which you don’t want to leave unattended.
  • How to push to multiple git remotes at once. [2m]
A great trick that I’ve used in the past an it just works. Very useful to keep mirrors updated, or if you need highly-available access to you source code; or to deploy to two different environments if you do git-deploys.
  • Alarm design: From nuclear power to WebOps [12m]
I find this subject very interesting. Having worked on a couple projects where we were in charge of setting up alerting for different kind of events I can confirm it’s not a simple challenge, and the results can be catastrophic if is not done well. This articles is a great starting point for improving your alerting systems. Your on-call team will be grateful if you follow these guidelines.

Video of the week

  • 500 Mousetraps & Ping-Pong Balls Show Why Vaccines Work [15m]
COVID-19 is still around and I can’t believe people doesn’t trust vaccines. This video makes a great demonstration on how vaccines work and why we would like to achieve herd-immunity. It’s also very fun to watch. Share it with your vaccine-denier friends!
