Good morning, sunshines! Or afternoon, whatever suits you better.
As some of you noted in last issue I started adding an estimated reading time right next to each article. I'll try to keep the total reading time to less than 20, 30 minutes tops, not counting videos or podcasts, so the number of links is probably not going to be fixed anymore, although it'll never be more than 5.
Links
- The Most Important Video Game Ever Made [2m]
No, is not the one you're thinking. In fact, you might have never heard of it, but as the author claims, this video game had the most impact on humanity ever. - IDEA – nonverbal algorithm assembly instructions [2m]
Do you like IKEA and algorithms? This page has posters on some algorithms and how they work without any text on it. Recommended to print a few and decorate your office. - Growing Your Tech Stack: When to Say No [12m]
Continuing with the topic of choose boring technology this post explores the risks of changing your infrastructure, programming language, and database. - An unlikely database migration [7m]
I wasn't expecting the plot twist on this one. Great article on how the folks at Tailscale migrated from a text file to distributed key-value store for their main database.
Video of the week
The illusion only some can see [17m]
I love optical illusions. They make me doubt of my brain, of course, but they're always awesome to watch and understand. Derek Muller, PhD never disappoints with its videos, and this one is no different.
