Twenty twenty-one second issue comes with the usual interesting links, but also now you can help me improve this newsletter! I've created a discussion page on GitHub, feel free to leave your comments and suggestions.
Links
- The proper usages of Exceptions in C#[9m]
While the title says C#, I think this applies to every language that have exception support. Personally I didn't find the article very well written, but it does its job in describing the purpose and core ideas. - The History of Email [10m]
I love computer history posts, and this case, I brought you an excellent recollection of email's first years. A very well written post with lots of links to the RFCs that were involved in the creation of such a wonderful tool. - The Great Software Stagnation [3m]
A really controversial article, one with statements that I don't fully agree but does have a point. The continuation, Open source is stifling progress [2m] is probably even more controversial, but I think I agree a little more to that one.
Video of the week
The Queen of Code [17m]
Very nice, albeit too short to my taste, introduction to who Grace Hopper was and what were her achievements and importance in the world of computing. If you don't know who she was, you need to watch it, and if you do know her, then you also need to watch it too and share it with your networks.
