Etsy’s engineering blog is full of great articles, and in this one, albeit old, they talk about a great experiment on keeping documentation up to date by not only making it immutable but also providing a great user interface by using their chat system to as the UI for searching and updating documentation. - How a one line change decreased our clone times by 99%
Pinterest is another company that has a great engineering blog, and in this opportunity they share how by only fetching one and just one branch they removed a huge bottleneck on their build pipeline. What a wonderful idea! I definitely need to start doing this. As en Emacs user this sounds like something that could be implemented using Org Mode. - How is computer programming different today than 20 years ago?
As someone who started programming 20 years ago I found myself nodding with agreement at this list. It has some harsh truths on it disguised as humour.
