We’re all a winner, let’s celebrate
Hi! How are ya?
Sorry to hit your inboxes this late at night.
Hope the sudden onset of winter hasn’t hit you too hard, and you were able to find all your coats, hats, and gloves from wherever you stashed them last spring.
And don’t worry - spring will be here again. We promise.
On to announcements!
Holiday Social in One Week!
We’ve put the catering order in, secured a giant projector to run various Italian plumber games on, and have started putting together a playlist of righteous holiday tunes (assuming the jokers haven’t gotten to it yet and added “Dominick the Donkey”).
Next Saturday, we’re gathering to throw the nerd ball of the year, the office holiday party for folks without an office, the IndyHackers Holiday Social.
We’ll be at Liter House, right behind the former home of the SpeakEasy.
Hundreds of folks have signed up for a free ticket so far, but we still have room for you.
Go get your ticket and we’ll see you there.

You’re a Mira award finalist!
This community is a finalist for the Community Impact Mira Award from TechPoint. For those unfamiliar, the Mira Awards are Indiana's big annual tech award series, celebrating the work happening across the state's tech ecosystem — from companies and careers to innovation and investment.
Our pitch for this award was straightforward: we highlighted your stories. From landing jobs and building businesses to offering mental health support and sharing management advice, this community is special and I'm excited to see that recognized.
Thank you for making this community impactful, supportive, and thriving. Let's keep it going strong!

One last thing
Hi there, typing to you from one of my favorite local coffee shops - Brickhouse Coffee Roasters at Geist.
Yesterday, I was at two events - The Startup Ladies Invest in Women Founders Summit and an open house for Elevate Ventures’ new headquarters downtown.
It might be the coffee, but I like to think I’m still buzzing from those events.
The quality of the new companies that were part of the summit - covering everything from medtech to youth sports to tequila(!) - was energizing.
And then Elevate’s new space - at 1 Virginia Ave - was packed with startup energy from founders and funders and a handful of doers.
Thinking through this today, I realize I have spent much of my life convincing myself that I’m an introvert and even joked about being a misanthrope when I was younger.
As I round the corner toward 50 I realize that isn’t right.
True, I get more anxious around large gatherings of people - but I like people, and I like those events.
My brain immediately starts worrying about bothering people or being “too much” or offending in some way.
In the past, those worries would keep me from attending a lot of gatherings, or from truly enjoying them.
And it might again in the future!
But not right now. I - we - need people too much to crawl into ourselves and let our brain keep us from connecting to our people.
So, I’ll see you next Saturday.
Say hi.
You’re not bothering me.
