Once again, as in olden days
Hi there. Hope you’re hanging in through all this.
Whatever the future holds, you’re a smart, capable and amazing human being.
Together, we’ll have to muddle through somehow.
The true holiday tune heads reading this might already see this ham-fisted transition coming, but we’re hoping your future includes the Indy Hackers Holiday Social - back after a year off and rebooted with a new vision, a new venue, and new vigor.
But the same community and the same amazing evening of catching up with each other and having a bit of a nerdy winter frolic.
Even pre-pandemic, the holiday social was one of the most cherished things Indy Hackers did - providing many of us a once-a-year opportunity to say hi to friends old and new, catch up on what’s been going on in each others’ lives, and generally have a great social time.
Since then, it’s our belief that the human need for community makes events like this even more valuable and necessary than before.
And, with so many of us working remotely, or for ourselves, or looking for work, it can also serve as a sort of office holiday party for those with no office included.
We sincerely and entirely hope to see you - yes, you - there. We’ve missed you, and can’t wait to wish you a happy holiday season as only our roving band of nerds can do.
Saturday, December 14. 7pm.
Liter House, right off the Monon in beautiful Broad Ripple.

New on the Job Board
The IndyHackers job board is free to companies and the community. Our goal is to help as many community members as possible land jobs they love at companies based here in Indiana, growing the community of hackers throughout the state.
If your company is hiring, post your job here.
If you’re hunting for a job, the full job board is here or you can follow along in #jobs in our Slack. Or: Just reply to this email with what you’re looking for.
One last thing
I wrote recently about leaning into ways I can inject kindness, lightness, politeness, and levity into the world.
I’m trying to identify opportunities that are easy for me to do, but have an outsize impact on other people’s lives.
This newsletter is one of those things.
I never know for sure who reads down this far, or how they react to the droppings I leave down here.
But my goal is to make them smile a bit, or make them feel a bit better than when they started.
When the future - or present - is darkest, these moments of light I can emit can have the most impact.
And, for many, it’s getting darker all the time.
So, I’d like to encourage you to look for opportunities of your own - opportunities to thank someone, or tell them how they’ve helped you, or compliment a job well done.
These things don’t take a lot of effort for many of us to do, but can make somebody’s day, week, year or imprint them for life.
Now more than ever, find these opportunities, and take them.
I know I am.
