hello friends, new and old. it’s been a while since i’ve used this poor little newsletter to send out some updates. let’s give you the newest news first and some long out of date info about what i’ve been up to.

new live album coming fall 2026

this is the biggest news! i have a new album coming out this fall drawn from a set of recent-ish live performances. the album will be called Ongoingnesses and will be released as a limited-run CD and digital download by Sawyer Spaces. the pieces on this album are drawn from a series of four performances between December 2024 and September 2025 in Seattle, Altadena, CA, and Chicago. all works for amplified percussion, electronics, and tape, most of the material is new, drawing from not-previously-recorded compositions from this period (“the constant conjunction” and “te tractas eam ad Larem”). the album has been mastered with care by the inimitable A.F. Jones at Laminal Audio. i’m excited to have you hear this - it’s been a long time coming (the mixing took me 9 months). i think it’s a stunning piece of work, and the first where i’m credited with playing garlic.

unpoetry at the frye, september 17, 2026

i’m happy to announce that i have been invited by friend-of-Imprecision Eric M. Acosta to participate with Tom Scully and Noelle K. Chun in the next Unpoetry at the Frye on September 17 at 6:30 PM. Tom, Noelle, and i will be performing an ekphrastic response to the Lotus L. Kang exhibition I hear the hollow boom of time. the works in this exhibition are gorgeous and enveloping. a call for RSVPs will be announced about a month out, so keep your eyes peeled.

october winslow house project residency

beyond everything above, i’ll be at a month-long residency at the Winslow House Project in Vallejo, California this October. in addition to myself, my cohort includes Quim Mclauchlan, Isabella Marie Garcia, and Robin Birdd David. i’ve got a handful of ideas swimming around about what i might do. if you’re within the area, please pencil in October 25 for the WHP Open House where we’ll be showing and talking about our work.

Imprecision is on Subvert

i’ve been increasingly dissatisfied with Bandcamp these days, so i have been starting to diversify my platforms for sales a bit more. i am now a member of the Subvert Co-Op and have an artist page up, and will be setting up additional pages for older projects. there’s already a little bit of exclusive music there and more is to come as i blow the dust off some older works.

recent installations

over the last 6+ months i’ve also been doing more sound art installations. the newer of the two is flagday (a particular kind of perceptiveness), is an interactive conceptual art installation that sits at the intersection of surveillance, queer semiotics, and 20th century serialist composition. it was just up in Portland a few weekends ago at Teardown 2026 and was part of the sweeThe4rTs show last February/March at Common Objects in Seattle, too. this was a fun, aggressively timed project that was my first foray into working with microcontrollers. as part of this, i also published a 28-page score book/zine on the piece.

the other, ASPIRÉMONOS, got more chances to be shown this last year as well. in particular, i’m really honored that the folks at Ground Hum selected me to participate and host it there. this gave me the opportunity to scale things up slightly, too, which allowed the whole thing to be a lot louder. thanks to everyone who contributed their breath to this project.
