Dear friends, I hope you're well & having a nice beginning of spring (or autumn, for some of you). I've been very busy in the last couple of months, but I'm really proud of the outcome, so here is the exciting news.
“A flower a day” is a stop-motion short film with over 500 flower ink drawings, made every morning for my partner over three years. It’s about the joy of being in a relationship, and the importance of daily commitment that a good relationship requires.
This is a very personal project, and initially I didn’t even want to make it public. But we could really use more positivity these days, so I changed my mind at some point. You can read more about it in the link below.
Watch & read about the film on my website — it’s also on Youtube and Instagram.
One big challenge with self-initiated projects is spreading the word about them. Especially when social media algorithms seem to favour mostly dance routines and pet videos.
If you do enjoy the film, please mention it on your social media, or forward this email to anyone who you think might like it. Thank you very much!
Similar to the film, I’ve also launched a series of 10 new flower drawings. These are actually part of the drawings I’ve been making for my ink drawings book. I’m still working on the book, but I thought it made sense to pair these larger flowers with the launch of the film.
Each print is a limited edition of 50. The format is A3 (297 x 420 mm). Giclée is a high quality archival inkjet print method, using pigment-based inks on Hahnemühle Photo Rag, a premium art paper.
Free shipping code
Due to lost orders in the mail, I recently had to upgrade all prints shipping to courier. That means faster and safer delivery, but obviously a higher cost as well.
As a thank you for your support though, here is a free shipping code that you can use if you’d like to get a new print from my shop: FLOWERSFILMNEWS (valid for one order).
The flower drawings are also available as a set of 10 postcards, printed digitally. Each set comes with 10 envelopes, so you can send the cards to your loved ones. Or you can use the envelopes for something else, and keep the cards on your desk or bookshelves for your daily delight.
That's all for now, hope you'll enjoy the film, and if you have any feedback, please reply to this email, or leave a comment on my socials.
Thanks again and all the best!
Iancu
P.S. Some of you might wonder why I'm sending the newsletter now, as the film's been out for a few days already. I was just very tired after the launch, and preparing the new limited edition prints took longer than I thought. So the newsletter got a bit delayed as well :)
