Hi all, a quick update to share some Hyperlink news!
TL;DR: Hyperlink is evolving and we’re making something new — a social environment and set of tools, built around interlinked card-based activity spaces, for learning and creating.
We’d love to know if you’d like to play with an early version. If so, read on…
Evolving and building
The end of last year, we did lots of research and design, taking stock of our experience with cohorts and experiments with Hyperspace, and figuring out the next direction for take Hyperlink.
We’ve also raised a pre-seed round, giving us the resources to keep building for at least a couple years, iterating our way to a great product, vibrant learning community, and sustainable biz. Right now, we’re working on an MVP of a new app that synthesizes all we’ve learned so far.
To restate our vision—
We want a playful and generative space for internet creators to learn in public and do cool things with friends. We want tools that help us do meaningful long-term work. We want creative studio spaces to tinker, mold ideas, give each other feedback and encouragement, and share inspiration.
Interested in giving ~New Hyperlink~ a spin?
We think it will be particularly good for spinning up casual clubs and learning circles, e.g. to explore a book, topic, or interesting question with some friends. It could also be a useful complement to small communities, like meetups or event series, that could use a combined note space + group chat.
We’re also designing it to be a great place to do your own projects, e.g. independent research and creative work, in a social environment. A tinker-space for planning, playing with ideas, soliciting input, co-working together.
A learning garden, playground, laboratory… Oh, and bots. We’re working on bots to make the new Hyperlink app programmable in a playful way!
We’ve hit pause on new cohorts for now, but we’re excited to experiment with projects and casual groups soon, and eventually build better, more flexible ways to create complex structures for learning.
Our immediate goal is to have a basic alpha version to play with in the next month or so. We’ll invite people slowly to start, and likely do 1:1 onboarding for people who are most interested.
If that’s you, drop your email here –> https://hyperlink.academy/
You’re already on the email list so we’ll keep you posted either way, this just lets us know you’re particularly interested in joining for alpha testing.
You can also hit reply if you have a specific project or learning group idea you think could be a good fit for what we’re describing. Priority to concrete experiments for early playtesting :)
More soon!
