Technical note itโ€™s a blimp but I donโ€™t think the original poster is concerned with the taxonomy of aircraft at this point. That being said Iโ€™d be concerned about that pod in the center do.

The least popular spot on the carousel. What a mishmash of things on there, from a space shuttle, to Alf to a giraffe, to the idea that a carousel from 1989 is still out here without any updates. Thereโ€™s a whole generation of people who see this now while having 0.0% Alf recognition levels, what do they think this is? Truly a nightmare.

Watch This: THE DEATH OF STALIN - now available on Netflix

From Armando Iannucci, the director/co-writer of IN THE LOOP, for my money one of the best films of the century, as well as HBOโ€™s Veep, comes this film, a satirical look at the upheaval caused by the titular death of Joseph Stalin. Before the body is even room temperature, his cabinet ministers have begun jockeying for power in the face of an uncertain future. Featuring a uniformly strong cast which includes the likes of Steve Buscemi, Jason Isaacs and Michael Palin, it contains Iannucciโ€™s trademark machine-gun dialogue and pitch-black humor and is also one of the funniest films in recent memory.

  • The director Nobuhiko ร”bayashi passed away today, at the age of 82. I know him for his first film, HOUSE, a truly bonkers tale about a girl who brings her friends out to her auntโ€™s old country home, where they proceed to have a generally not-good time, as the house and supernatural forces like a demonic cat, a very hungry piano and others terrorize the girls. Currently available to stream through the Criterion Channelโ€™s service, the film is as much a comedy as it is a horror film and is definitely worth seeking out.

  • I did not know that the Doubletree hotel chain:

    • Offered cookies at check-in

    • That the cookies offered are a beloved item

    • That the recipe was a secret in any fashion

I say was because the chain recently released the recipe for everyone to make the famous treat (the first food to be baked in orbit in the International Space Station!) for themselves. While itโ€™s a nice gesture, the level of fame these cookies have is perplexing to me, and Iโ€™d chalk it up to travelers experiencing any type of human warmth after having to subject themselves to airports and the security theater and then six different checked baggage fees but who knows maybe theyโ€™re very delicious.

  • Healthy Choice has had to recall over 65 tons of a certain frozen dinner meal after a distinctly unhealthy choice was made which led to the inclusion of rocks in some of the meals. While the article doesnโ€™t state the extent of the issue (like is it an isolated case or is this a โ€œrock guaranteed in every box!โ€ kind of situation), the use of weight of the food rather than just the number of boxes is also an odd decision. Anyways, check the article for more information about the affected dinners to make sure you donโ€™t consume extremely ancient grains.

  • To close, click through for this for a whole long-ass thread of Mrs. Doubtfire memes which are as funny as they are haunting:
