Vapormage Preorders Rolling Out
Wheee look at ‘em roll
I’ll get right to it: this link goes to a page set up for Vapormage with links to any and all places you can preorder the book. Apple Books! Barnes & Noble! Everand! French and German places apparently! (Amazon… eventually. They’re a problem.) At time of writing, that’s just for ebook preorders, because I still have to receive and formally approve the print proof.
The book is gonna be $5 for ebook, $20 for paperback. I’ve set up a promo so ebook preorders should be only $3. I’ll be honest: I have no idea if those are smart prices for this. I mainly just set it as cheap as I could while giving a little wiggle room for promos or direct-sale discounts (I should be able to sell paperbacks directly for closer to $10, if I understand the numbers right).
What about audiobooks? I’m working on it. The options are basically “shitty text-to-speech” or “spend a lot more money” (or “do it yourself” but I am definitely not a voice actress). I’m led to believe there may be an Apple-provided option that’s better than bad, but we’ll see. I know some folks only do audiobooks nowadays, I respect that, I’m trying to give you something that doesn’t suck.
What also doesn’t suck: libraries. I did select options so that Vapormage should show in library databases, so you can request it with them as it gets closer to release. If you don’t actually want to buy the book and you’re just subscribed to this out of obligation, requesting it is a free way to help out.
Do I know how to promote and market the book from here? Gods, no! I know about the “giveaway for reviews” sites, I’m hitting them up, but beyond that… shrug? I’ll just keep being annoying about it, I guess.
Oh also I’m planning to do some sort of party for the release / my birthday. I don’t know what and it won’t be much, but if you’re local, there’s that.
Okay bye
