Episode 4: Project Management
Topic du jour
I kinda suspected this would happen. I know a lot of folks can just go on, talking about nothing, without feeling self-conscious or anything like that. But after years of livestreaming, I’ve realized that… no, I kinda run out of things to talk about kinda quickly. I think I don’t consider my opinions so important that people should hear it. I have to have a thing I’m doing. A capital-p Project.
Of course I’ve been thinking of more projects.
I should really finish my current projects.
Neat!
Do you remember the Eternal Jukebox? I do! To give a sense of its age, it references “Infinite Gangnam Style” as a use case. I remember listening to even more repetitive remixes of Daft Punk songs in the office, back when I worked in an office. Well hey, it’s still online, which is a little surprising for basically anything dealing with music nowadays.
Supposedly
A quite old–as in, from the 1940’s–technical joke is the “turbo encabulator”, which is just a whole script of technical-sounding bullshit. You may have seen the “Rockwell Automation” version done by Mike Kraft, but earlier video versions were automotive jokes presented by Bud Haggert. I figured the two guys got the gigs ‘cause they were actors good at not corpsing through the rubbish, but it turns out the pair did actual automotive service videos back in the day. They were poking fun at themselves.
Hey, listen
I have been poking at some of those ideas, albeit not all that organized. Kinda just researching, going down rabbit holes. That’s led me to a few random things, including this group from Japan that were–in both style and time–contemporaries of Kraftwerk. I like a little Kraftwerk.

Vapormage Update
Chapter 12 complete! In part because I shortened it. The last scene didn’t matter much for perspective (and may work better with Kell anyway), and the new end of the chapter serves as a tight little denouement for what Sheila’s tackled. It’s also just shy of the longest chapter of the book already. Chapter 15 is gonna be a beast, I can tell.
Scrivener says the word count is currently 73,508 of an expected 90,000, for progress of 3,344.
That’s all for now, ta ta,
