Episode 1: Shoegaze Posting
Topic du jour
I'm allowed one bit of navel-gazing, it's a new project.
So yeah, this is new, I don't know what I want to do with it exactly. I even said "weekly" and I'm thinking maybe less than that? And I'm not sure exactly what content I want to focus on; I do like little "internet miscellany" digests, though I don't think I surf broadly enough to really make those work. (I do love when someone puts a link in theirs that I've already seen, it's like I'm getting one over on people smarter than me.)
I'd hate to make it just about me, because I insist I'm not that interesting. I suppose, though, that I'll have to get more comfortable with self-talk and self-promo with the book in the works, and if I can do it with a suitably storyteller vibe then maybe it'll work. I dunno! Open to opinions.

If you don't follow me on Cohost (which I'm using as a blog currently), then I don't blame you, because here's all I've posted:
The first of many attention-seeking Vapormage posts, about the protagonist
A ramble on ambient music, playlists, and genre over generations
Supposedly
Despite this sounding like blatant stereotyping, Parisians were indeed so enamored and dependent on the baguette that there was a law since the French Revolution dictating when bakers could take vacations. They had to register with authorities and post notices for customers. The law was only repealed in 2015.
Hey, listen
Of course, the tension between the two halves of "music video" has been around since the inception. But I feel like, since OK GO's Here We Go Again, there's a particularly "YouTube" kind of approach: modest concept, aggressively high aesthetic execution, inoffensively upbeat music, all primed for virality either through absurdity or cleverness. And on that subject:
I Dont Know How But They Found Me - Do It All the Time
Vapormage Update
I made a chart I need to explain the chart
Chapters go across. Going down are the scenes. Light shade means it's not done, dark means it's done. The color reflects the point-of-view character. Green is Kell, orange is Sheila, purple is Alejandro, red is Tobias, and blue is out-of-narrative asides. There are scenes I "finished," but I know there are things I still wanna do with them, so they stay faded. (And there's a lot of early story that could use expanding upon still, according to beta feedback.)
Scrivener says the word count is currently 65,047 of an expected 90,000.
That's all for now, ta ta,
