Luke here! Back when we were in college together, pal and newsletter co-founder Brian Agler and I collaborated on a sketch about some folks who don't understand what the fire department is or how it works. We always really liked the concept and a few years later, we thought it might be fun to rework it into a short humor piece. In the process of adapting the sketch into prose humor, we gained a deeper understanding of each medium’s unique strengths.
