A Reminder of Humorous Readings
By popular request, we are sending this reminder that our next show is tomorrow (1/28/20)!The hangout starts at 6:30, and the show starts at 7:30. Tickets are $10 if you buy ahead of time, and $12 at the door. As you may remember from a previous newsletter, Caveat, our wonderful venue, hit a bit of a rough patch over the holidays and could use some extra support this month. So coming to this month's edition of the show is a great way to support us AND Caveat. And as always, if you can't make it, it really REALLY helps to tweet about it, post about it, or spread the word any ol' way you can
To entice you further, we've put together the following brief bios of our awesome guests, including a selection of a piece they've written that we love:
Nicole Boyce has written for The New Yorker, Reductress, New York Magazine, & hosts the podcast Come to Brazil. Last time she was on the show Nicole read this very funny, very relatable piece, "Looking at This Thing on My Phone: A User's Manual", and you're not gonna want to miss seeing her at this show!
Bizzy Coy (who is making a SPECIAL TRIP to do the show) has written for The New Yorker, McSweeney’s, & The Belladonna. You should also check out her #scribblewits posts about witty women in history. Bizzy writes very funny stuff like this piece about Oscar nominations, and we know she’ll have some very very good stuff to read to you at the show, as that is her custom.
Steve Macone has written for The Onion, The New Yorker, and the New York Times! His piece "Halloween Pranks for Grownup Millennials" is a delight and a great read, whether or not it's the Halloween season, and his readings always kill! Don't miss out!
Hope to see you at the show!
