A Newsletter of Humorous Writing
A Newsletter of Humorous Writing
For April 5-11, 2018, a roundup of the week's finest prose humor and prose humor-related news.
Hello and welcome to A Newsletter of Humorous Writing, the email propaganda arm of the acclaimed humorous readings show, An Evening of Humorous Readings. We're proud to announce that we're closing in on three hundred subscribers, which means we're almost .01% of the way to completing our goal of getting three million subscribers, at which point we will demand that all our subscribers send us a one-time payment of one dollar, which will mean that the three of us will each get one million dollars, which will be enough for us to finally be able to do what we've always wanted: move into a big mansion and die from being crushed by one of the many giant marble statues on the grounds. Let's make it happen! Tell your friends to subscribe!
What We Enjoyed This Week
Help! I Fell Into A Bottomless Pit by Sam Weiner (GoFundMe) Here at Newsletter H.Q., there are two things we love: good jokes and formal experimentation. And once you're done donating to Sam's GoFundMe, check out his Patreon page.
The Only Kitchen Knife in Your Airbnb by Sarah Aswell (The New Yorker)
Boss Ass Bitch! This Ass Boss Bitch-Bitch Just Bossed an Ass Bitch’s Ass Clean Off! by Miranda Kronfeld (Reductress)
An Old Favorite
3 Little Things I Regret Having Said by Dan Kennedy (McSweeney's)
This one is short and sweet. It quickly paints a vivid picture of the narrator, and the third thing on the list makes us laugh out loud every time we read it or even just think about it.
Updates From Your Hosts and Friends of the Show
James was interviewed in the latest edition of Caitlin Kunkel's newsletter! Check it out, and hey, why not subscribe while you're over there?
