Issue #20: Don't call it a comeback
Issue #20: Don’t call it a comeback
Okay, this is really awkward. I started this newsletter intending to send at least two mails a month. The last newsletter I sent wasn’t two weeks ago, but 58 weeks ago. I can’t judge you if you don’t remember anymore why you signed up. It was because I promised to send you information about good and bad practices in HTML.
If you’re still into learning about HTML, that’s great because I decided to revive this newsletter slowly. If you’re not interested anymore, feel free to unsubscribe.
2023 is the year I plan to give htmhell.dev the love it deserves. I plan to update it more regularly, invite external authors to write blog posts, and more. The newsletter is also part of this. I’ll use it to keep you up-to-date with the latest additions to the site and I’ll share some newsletter-exclusive content with you.
HTMHell advent calendar 2022
Last year, I invited 24 authors to write about HTML as part of the HTMHell advent calendar 2022. It was an experiment that turned out to be a great success. It’s a mix of different topics related to HTML, accessibility, security, performance, usability, and miscellaneous.
One of my favorite articles was “How to transfigure wireframes into HTML” by Lara Aigmüller. Lara shares her process of turning wireframes into HTML. She talks about heading outlines, landmarks, DOM order, and more. What Lara describes in her post is a skill that most developers have never mastered. It’s something that schools, universities, and boot camps don’t teach properly. I’m glad that Lara filled that gap.
