DTV - Zine Fest! Plus, Book Updates!
wowie it’s been a minute turns out selling stuff online is mildly complicated
Hello video enthusiasts!!! Did you remember my newsletter existed??? I did sorta but I was busy with some stuff and didn’t have much to share yet over the past couple months, so it took a backseat to some slightly more pressing projects. But here it is! A real update!! Wow!!! Check out this news:
For those of you in the Greater Orlando Metropolitan Area Slash Central Florida More Generally, I’ll be tabling at Orlando Zine Fest this Saturday, December 14 from 8-11pm! It’ll be at Blackbird Comics in Maitland, and I think it’s going to be a great time. I’ve attended this event a couple times before and seen some extremely cool art, so if you’re in the area I highly recommend coming out! I’ll have some copies of Nothing Doing #1 for sale and will also generally be pleasant to be around. Come say hello!!!
Speaking of that book, you may recall I sold preorders for it on the internet a couple months ago. Well, I now have an update on how that whole deal went! The following was posted on my Ko-fi but in case you missed it here it is:
“Status update on books: with the exception of Canadian orders, all preorder copies of Nothing Doing #1 have been shipped!!! Thanks to everyone who ordered for your support, and for all your patience as I slowly figured out how mail works. For those of you who placed an order to Canada, your order will be sent out once the Canada Post strike has ended and the demands of the workers have been met. Apologies for the delay, but frankly on top of fair wages and safe working conditions there should be a golden statue of a postal worker on every street corner so!!!
If you have any questions about your order, feel free to send me an email at shop@horseonvhs.com. It’s like my regular email, but for shop”
I’ll be honest — this was both a much easier and much more difficult project than I originally expected, mostly because I kept delicately placing rakes in front of myself, taking a deep breath, and stepping directly on them. It may be some time before I take on a project like this again; at the very least, I’d like to get an issue 3’s worth of strips out before thinking about printing issue 2. To everyone reading this, whether you bought a copy or not, thank you for the support you’ve given me in whatever form that has taken. At the end of the day, I’m glad to have put that dang book out into the world and into peoples’ hands.
Alright well thanks for readin next time you hear from me here it will probably be shorter and will definitely be about comics lol.
OK THAT’S ALL GOODBYE!!!
